Poker is played at home and in the casino. Home poker tables, from folding poker tables, to pedestal poker tables to full furniture poker table are becoming increasingly popular for the home. Furniture poker tables are available in a variety of styles.

Poker is a card game in which players make bets on the cards they hold, or hope to hold. There are countless types of poker games, but all come under either of two general classifications.

In draw poker each player is dealt five cards, face down. After placing a bet, he is entitled to discard not more three of his cards and draw the same number from the deck in an attempt to improve his hand. After all players have filled out their hands, the betting proceeds. In regular stud poker, each player receives one card in the hole (face down). This is followed by one card face up. Bets are made on the two cards. After bets are placed, a second face-up card is dealt. This continues until each player has five cards. Many groups play seven-card stud, in which two hole cards are followed by four face-up cards, then a final hole card.

Although poker games differ, the card combinations they bet on are the same everywhere.
